Ellie is a digital print design student who is finishing her final year of a Textiles Degree at Manchester Metropolitan University.

 

Throughout my final year I have been exploring the world of children’s wallpaper. Living by the seaside in Brighton inspired this journey as I felt Brighton seafront was the perfect starting point for a children’s wallpaper collection. It has been important for the hand drawn qualities to stand out within my digital prints, as I feel children relate better to hand drawings rather than a digitally created drawing. I am really inspired by colour so my colour palette was extremely important to me and I created it very early on in the year. I hope my designs have a playful, animated feel to them that both child and parent can enjoy.

 

During my three years here I have completed a number of placements including; ASOS, Burberry, Amanda Kelly Designs, Graham and Brown and New Look. These placements have given me an understanding and appreciation of the market and how fast paced it is.
